I’m still enjoying time with good friends in NY. Aside from an occasional bad pain day, I’ve been having a blast!

I’m celebrating that and the fact that I scratched another to-do off my bucket list. Although I can’t sing, I decided to participate in a karaoke event that my ride or die girl, Vivian held last week. She’s an amazing K-jay, and she knew I wanted to perform a song forever. Considering how lucky I am to have my voice back after the bleed, I felt this needed to be done. 🙂 What better way to celebrate than actually using it? Vivi’s Karaoke Krew was the absolute best and calmed my fears. They even sang along with me! I sang my late mother’s favorite ’80s song: Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), by the Eurythmics.

The file was too large to download, but if you want to hear some of it, here’s the link:

Hopefully, your ears won’t bleed! 😀

Best of all, I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! Yeah, Baby!!

What have you celebrated this week?

#CTST – A FABULOUS SUMMER

Hey, everyone! It’s time for another posting of Celebrate the Small Things brought to us by LEXA CAINPost anything in life that you’re celebrating, no matter how small or big, on your blog. I know it’s been a while for me, but I spent the past month actually enjoying my summer (for the most part).

I’ve had a lot to celebrate over the past several weeks. My depression has been almost non-existent since I spent a good portion of the summer between the homes of my daughter and son-in-law, my friend Luis, and my friends Vivian and Alan (who just celebrated 25 years of marriage!) I was one of the witnesses at their civil ceremony all those years ago, and was thrilled to share in their anniversary festivities.

The party happened to fall on my birthday, so not only did I get a shout out at the party, but Vivi and Alan took me to Medieval Times in Lyndhurst the following week as a birthday gift. Loved it!

I also finished my review of Lexa’s soon to be released book, Bloodwalker – and it was amazing! Creepy, thrilling, engrossing, you name it. You can read the review I left on my other blog lilicasplace .

I’m heading out this weekend again, but I’m taking my computer with me, so I’ll try doing better with my postings. Don’t know when I’ll be home, but I’ve got a lot of cool plans. Stay tuned!

Best of all, I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! Yeah, Baby!!

What have you celebrated this week or this summer? I need to catch up!  🙂

IWSG – END OF SUMMER

Hello, bloggers. It is the first Wednesday of the month and we know what that means, right? Time for the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

NinjaInsecure Writers Support Group Badge Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh , my hero and one of my mentors, founded this amazing and wonderful group.

The group’s purpose is to allow writers to share their doubts and fears, trials and tribulations without fear of being mocked or feeling foolish. It’s also a place where writers who have “been there” can offer wisdom and guidance.

Whenever anyone finishes a draft, edits their work, finds the perfect critique group, publishes their work, or has any other good news to share, this is the place to do it too!

Our awesome co-hosts today are C. Lee McKenzie, Rachel Pattison, Elizabeth Seckman, Stephanie Faris, Lori L MacLaughlin, and Elsie Amata!

Don’t forget to stop by and thank them for working hard this month!

It’s hard to believe that summer’s basically come and gone. My friends’ kids are all going back to school, the weather is slowly starting to change, and even some of the leaves my way are starting to fall.

Aside from a few bumps in the road, summer was nice. I enjoyed quality time with my daughter and son-in-law, close friends, and even got away from the house a couple of times for a few weeks. As a matter of fact, I’ll be leaving again this weekend for another after Labor Day, summer nearly ending getaway. 🙂

I’m taking my laptop with me so I can try keeping up with stuff I’ve been falling behind on. I’m looking forward to a happy autumn and harvest season – my favorite time of year, followed by spring. 😉

Now that summer’s almost over, do you have any special plans to welcome autumn? (I’m already thinking towards Halloween!) Smh.

Check out my other blog’s IWSG post this month too at lilicasplace.
