I’m going back in time from furthest to most recent, so bear with me.

My daughter Mandy surprised me with a visit for Mothers Day and Vivi’s family and us had an awesome brunch at my favorite Indian spot – Saffron.

I got to see both Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Wonder Woman few weeks apart with Vivi and the crew. Loved them both.

On June 11 I participated in a 5k fun run/walk at the YMCA and actually finished! All that working out at the Y paid off. 🙂 I came in last but don’t care. I didn’t even use my cane until the last mile. You can check out the last four minutes or so on my Facebook Page. My official finish time was 1:22:02,

My pain levels have gone down a little over the past couple of weeks, except for the two days after the walk (Yeah, I was in bed for a good day or so).

Finally, Vivi and Al bought a portable hot tub and I got to enjoy it for the first time the other day. I could get used to this…

Best of all, I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! Yeah, Baby!!

What have you celebrated this week? I hope you all have amazing little things to share! Xoxoxo

#IWSG – SHUFFLING ALONG

Hello fellow bloggers. It is the first Wednesday of the month and we know what that means, right? Time for the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh , my hero and one of my mentors, founded this amazing and wonderful group.

The group’s purpose is to allow writers to share their doubts and fears, trials and tribulations without fear of being mocked or feeling foolish. It’s also a place where writers who have “been there” can offer wisdom and guidance.

The awesome co-hosts for the November 4 posting of the IWSG will be Stephen Tremp, Karen Walker, Denise Covey, and Tyrean Martinson!

Make sure you pay them a visit and thank them for all their hard work!

October was a good month, all things considered. I received good news regarding my pension, my mood has stabilized since coming off a particular med, and my pain levels haven’t been intolerable.

I was able to get more reading, writing, reviewing, and blogging done. I love it. What’s even better is that I’ve engaged in social media more and befriended a couple of other stroke survivors and family members. I love that even more.

Just wanted to share that with everyone this month. No major insecurities I want to talk about; I’ll save them for next month. 🙂 Does anyone else have good news to share? I’d love to hear about it. Of course, I’m here to listen to any insecurities too. That’s what the #IWSG family is all about. Until next month…

With all things being relative, it’s been another good week for me. 🙂

I am considered officially in Early Disability Retirement from the State of NJ, where I held my civil service EMT job. It’s good in the sense that I will receive pension income in addition to my SSDI. My ultimate goal is to recover to the point where I can go back to meaningful full-time employment. Seeing the word RETIRED stirs up conflicting emotions. For now I’ll stick with grateful. I could use the income. Grateful, grateful, grateful.

I’ve been making decent headway as far as discarding unnecessary clutter (old magazines, junk mail, etc.) and giving my daughter some useful EMS gear that I won’t be needing – bought new before I got sick. I imagine her strutting around with her new radio holder and neon traffic vest. Awww…

Reading and writing out reviews have taken up a good portion of time. My social media presence is slowly improving as well.

My pain levels have been stable except on some of the rainier days, but they haven’t been intolerable. I’ll take it. It’s been worse.

Most important of all, I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! Yeah, Baby!!

What have you celebrated this week?
