IWSG – ANOTHER ABSENCE

Hello, bloggers. It is the first Wednesday of the month and we know what that means, right? Time for the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

NinjaInsecure Writers Support Group Badge Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh , my hero and one of my mentors, founded this amazing and wonderful group.

The group’s purpose is to allow writers to share their doubts and fears, trials and tribulations without fear of being mocked or feeling foolish. It’s also a place where writers who have “been there” can offer wisdom and guidance.

Whenever anyone finishes a draft, edits their work, finds the perfect critique group, publishes their work, or has any other good news to share, this is the place to do it too!

The awesome co-hosts for the June 7 posting of the IWSG will be JH Moncrieff, Madeline Mora-Summonte, Jen Chandler, Megan Morgan, and Heather Gardner!

June 3 Question: Did you ever say “I quit”? If so, what happened to make you come back to writing?

There have been many times that I wanted to say ‘I quit’. I’m not talking about my writing; that I can answer on my other blog lilicasplace. Those that are close to me know when times are rough, like when the depression or pain hits hard, it’s easy to want to crawl back into my shell. But I don’t, most of the time. I keep in mind that ‘this to shall pass’ and move forward, even if it’s at a turtle’s pace. This is one of those times, which is why I’m keeping this month’s post short.

Though you may not see me posting much for a while, know that I appreciate each and every follower I have. Xoxoxo

IWSG – AND NEW WEEKLY QUOTES

Hello, bloggers. It is the first Wednesday of the month and we know what that means, right? Time for the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

The awesome co-hosts for the February 1 posting of the IWSG are Misha Gericke, LK Hill, Juneta Key, Christy and Joylene Buter!

Don’t forget to visit them and thank them for their hard work!

Now that I’m settled in (for the most part) with home, doctors, insurance, etc., I started thinking about how I could motivate myself into blogging more. I decided that I would post a quote every week that would reflect how I’m feeling at the time I schedule it.

One week it could be funny, the next it could be reflective. You get the point. Since this is the first Wednesday of a new month, I decided to start today.

I somehow manage to find the courage every day. I hope you do too.

February 1 Question: How has being a writer changed your experience as a reader?

Check out my other blog’s post at lilicasplace for the answer.

What motivates you to continue blogging? Did you answer the question of the month?

The past month and a half has been rough but I still have a list of things to celebrate.

  1. God, my family/few friends, the Fellowship, and my close-knit online buddies love me (They really love me!)   🙂
  2. Sophie, what can I say? I love this hairy little thing…
  3. My daughter and son-in-law got me a PS4 with Fallout 4 and the new Call of Duty for Christmas
  4. I got to spend a few days with my brother from another mother (not you Twinny) Luis, including New Year’s Eve and Day.

Even through my sadness and depression, I celebrate the fact that I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! And I praise you Lord, for the gift of my life.

What have you celebrated this week?

  • I’m maintaining the goals I set myself since the beginning of the year

  • Meditation has been helping me deal with stress and pain a little

  • Most importantly, I’m still here, blessed with very special people in my life.

It’s been a rough and tumble week, but I’m still celebrating it! My pain level has been high most of the week. My low level patch that my rehab doctor has me on in place of the Fentanyl I took myself off of had to be ordered, so I’ve been taking my muscle relaxers and over the counter pain meds. I’ve been working hard at PT and I know that’s been adding to my pain and soreness.

My daughter Mandy came to spend the weekend with me and THAT was worth everything to me. 😀 She’s a newly licensed driver and I got to see her drive me around to do my errands for the first time EVER! I am so proud of her

We exchanged our Christmas presents and I got a Chromecast, so I can stream Netflix, Hulu, my Prime videos, etc. all on my TV! I am stoked! Mandy loved her gifts.

I made her dinner Saturday night while she babysat me and helped me with the things I couldn’t do by myself (like drain the ground meat without dropping everything all over).  😀

I’m celebrating the fact that I’ve been on course so far with everything I said I was going to accomplish for this year, aside from one or two things that were beyond my control, and those don’t count.

I’m celebrating the fact that I’m still here, blessed with some very special people in my life.

What have you celebrated this week?

Coming Clean About My Stroke-Part1

Here is Part 1 of Coming Clean About My Stroke. I wrote this in my other blog last summer and will continue posting the rest every few days until we are up to date.

lilicasplace

Physical therapy had gone well for my knee, back and hand. I had lived with some friends in NJ since I had separated from my partner in August. I would get picked up on weekends to come back to PA. We would talk about the problems that led to our separation and if there was any possibility of reconciliation. It didn’t really look that way to me, but we continued to talk about it and I continued spending my weekends in PA, from Friday to Sunday.

NOVEMBER 20, 2011

We had just gotten to PA from NJ. I had promised one of my roommates that I would finish the first draft of his term paper on Assisted Suicide for one of his classes. 😦 My ex was in the family room downstairs watching a football game. It must have been about 9pm or so. At some point, I had to…
