Posts about Awards given and received.

Wow, just wow! June is starting off to be an amazing month for me. Fellow blogger and friend Jen at jabrushblog again nominated for another award. This time it’s for the Encouraging Thunder Award! Can you believe it?  That’s two awards in less than two weeks. Thrilled doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel right now. I almost want to cry, but I won’t. 🙂

What you can do with Encouraging Thunder award?
– Post it on your blog
– Grant other bloggers with the award

What you can’t do with Encouraging Thunder award?
– Abuse or misuse the logo
– Claim that it’s your own handmade logo

What you should do after receiving Encouraging Thunder award:
– Enjoy the award
– Thank via comments or mention the blogger who gave you the award 🙂

That’s it. No questions to answer or cumbersome rules to follow. It’s acknowledgment to those blogger friends who have stuck behind you through good times and bad, whether through comments, social media, email, etc.

You don’t need to award it to anyone else if you don’t want to. Just accept it. So many people have my back, I can’t sit behind this computer and not give this Award to some very special people. Whether they choose to accept or display it is completely up to them. (They’d know I love them even without it!)

I’m giving the Encouraging Thunder Award to the following people:

Culinary queen, animal activist/advocate, and my virtually adopted Mom (I did that, but she doesn’t mind) 😀 Jo Wake at Food, Life, and a Scent of Chocolate
Author, Blogger, Musician, founder of the Insecure Writers Support Group, my virtually adopted baby brother (I did that too!) 😉 – Ninja Captain Alex at Alex J. Cavanaugh
Fellow stroke fighter, Megan, who is becoming near and dear to my heart at Stroke Survivor
Blogger friend and #CTST host Lexa, at Lexa Cain
Blogger friend and fighter, Katie at The Cyborg Mom
Blogger friend Maggie at Just Get It Written
Author, blogger and friend, Deanie Humphrys-Dunne
Although we’ve just recently ‘met’, M.R.R. at God, Entertainment, and Annoying Things always leaves me encouraging and positive comments.
Author, blogger, cheerleader, and friend Elizabeth Seckman.
One of my kindred spirits, amazing graphic artist, and fellow blogger, my dear Father Dragon Al at Dragon on a Mission
Author, blogger, cheerleader and friend Lisa Buie-Collard
Author, blogger, cheerleader and friend Melissa Maygrove
Author, blogger, fellow zombie enthusiast and friend David Powers-King
Writer, blogger, cheerleader, and friend Morgan Shamy
Fellow blogger Dixie at dcrelief – Remove the Rose Colored Glasses

I need to include author, fellow blogger, and friend Mark Koopmans, but the link I have for him won’t work. I gotta find the new one. I definitely need to give him this award because he’s the one that helped me find so many amazing people by commenting on my first blog, lilicasplace, when it was just a baby blog.  😀

I know, right? God has truly blessed me with amazing people in my life. I know there are a couple I can’t think of at the moment. I’m sorry for that, but when I do, I’ll make it a point to let you know and I’ll make sure I correct my error. I’ve been prone to them lately.

Thanks again Jen for the Award! I feel unstoppable now! Love ya girl!

This Blog’s First Award, a Liebster!

Hello there my beloved blogger friends! It’s a wonderful day for me I have to say. I’ve found myself some wonderful new blogger buddies recently and have the honor of receiving this blog’s first Award, the Liebster.

First Liebster

I have to thank fellow blogger feminineandfeline for the nomination. For an up and coming new blog, recognition like the Liebster has meaning. It helps spread the word about the existence of new blogs and gives us the opportunity to venture out and make new friends. I learned that from my first blog. Thank you so very much; I’m deeply grateful.

Alright, Here are the facts:

Here are the Official Rules for accepting the Liebster Award: (There are a couple of different versions online)

  1.  Answer the questions given and then come up with 10 new ones to ask your nominations.
  2. Nominate 8 other blogs, let them know you have nominated them and put a link to their blog in your post.
  3. No Tag backs.
  4. Nominations must have under 200 followers.
  5. You must tell all the blogs that you have nominated them

My ten questions to answer…

One. Kate Spade or Michael Kors?     Michael Kors
Two. What are you favorite sports teams?     New York Yankees and Baltimore Ravens
Three. If you could be a superhero which one would you be & what special power would you possess?   Healing
Four. What’s your favorite thing about yourself?     My ability to survive no matter what circumstances I’ve been thrown in.
Five. What’s one of your greatest accomplishments to date?  My daughter, having a flash fiction piece place, and having a recent post submission accepted into an Anthology. I know it’s 3, but I’m happy. 🙂
Six. What is one of your fondest memories? Graduating pre-school way, way, way back in the day. Lol.
Seven. What’s your favorite color? Purple, pink, closely followed by green. I know, another 3.
Eight. Have you ever been bullied?  Yes.
Nine. What is something on your bucket list a.k.a something you would like to do before you die?   Visit Hungary. Preferably with my brother and some other family members.
Ten. Do you have any tattoos//if so what are they?   I have just one by my right shoulder. A small rose with a ribbon running through it and my daughter’s name. It’s old and probably faded.

My eight nominees for the Liebster are:

  • Any of my followers who have under 200 followers. Now that was simple, wasn’t it? Since I haven’t been around that long, I think it’s easy to say that this blog probably don’t even have eight followers with less than 200!!

Ten for you guys to answer!!

  1. What is your blog about in one sentence?
  2. Who is your favorite author and why?
  3. Do you consider yourself a healthy eater? Why or why not?
  4. What do you do for stress relief?
  5. What is your favorite hobby?
  6. Do you own any pets? If so, what kind?
  7. Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts?
  8. What kind of music do you listen to?
  9. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
  10. What is your favorite color(s)?

Thanks once again for the nomination! I’ll proudly display it on my blog!

Showing My Appreciation-Written Act of Kindness Award

Good morning bloggers! I hope everyone is doing well this week. I am grateful to wake up to another beautiful day, I’m in NJ this week with some friends and taking care of some business. But today’s post isn’t about what doing; it’s to give an Award to someone who has inspired me in so many ways since I started my blogging journey almost a year and a half ago. WrittenActsofKindnessAward I learned about this award from Cate Russell-Coles, who had this to say:

Success never comes solely from your own efforts. There are always others along the way who give you a hand up; encourage you; or give you that resource, or piece of advice you never could have done without.
When someone inspires you, or if you see someone who is using their writing gift to help others, please take the time to thank them publicly by giving them this award (and the rules for passing it on.)

This award is open to anyone to use. You don’t have to receive it, in order to be able to give it. Please take the details and images off this page and use it to encourage another writer.

The rules for passing it on are very simple:

  1. You are welcome to give it out as many times as you like, but it is only to be given to a maximum of one person per blog post. If you wish to give multiple rewards, please space the blog posts by at least a week, so the sincerity is maintained.
  2. Introduce the person; say how they encourage, help or inspire you; then link to their work and/or social media profiles. There may be a specific post you wish to link to which helped you. It’s up to you.
  3. Please publicise your award post to Twitter or Google Plus using the hashtag #writtenkindness so that others can find and follow the award winners.

There is one blogger that I find particularly deserving of the Written Acts of Kindness Award. Since I began writing my first blog last February, Alex J. Cavanaugh, who is affectionately known as the Ninja Captain, has been a steady and positive influence on me.

Since I began following his blog and joining the Insecure Writers Support Group (which he founded), I’ve  come out of my shell, as a blogger, writer and person. He makes it a point to regularly visit and comment on my posts, and knowing how important this new one is to me, was one of the first to comment on it.

I will always admire Alex for giving us writers and survivors the confidence and inspiration to trudge forward, even on days when we sometimes don’t feel like it.

Thank you Ninja Captain, for making the writing life a little less difficult to live; so glad you’re in mine!
