I had an eventful and interesting week. I went to a wedding on Halloween with my ex (we remain on civil terms for Sophie’s sake). o.O I have to admit it was nice, and it was at a spot located near me. They chose a Halloween theme with purple, black, and white as their colors. I wore 2 1/2″ – 3″ heels for all of an hour before I couldn’t take it any more, so out came the flats. I paid for it dearly the next two days, with fluid buildup in my right knee, swelling, and overall back and leg pain. It was worth it. No pain, no gain, right?

Still working on the clutter in my cottage, though it’s mostly papers that I’m going through at this point. Who knew paper had so many hiding places? Working on the social media angle more; I’m getting there bit by bit.

I’ve gotten a lot of reading done and am working on several reviews that will be posted on my other blog, lilicasplace, in the coming weeks.

Best of all, I’m STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS!! Yeah, Baby!!

What have you celebrated this week? How was your Halloween?

About My Miracle Life

I'm a writer, blogger, avid reader, book reviewer, sub-arachnoid hemorrhage and stroke survivor, moving forward in my recovery and trying to advocate for stroke and brain hemorrhage awareness and prevention. I'm also slowly working towards independence, driving, my first novel, a memoir and a series of short stories. I've been lucky to have a very small network of close friends to guide me; I've been even luckier to have found an online 'family' of sorts to help me through the rough times.

  1. Black, purple, and white? You know, that would be rather cool. Sorry about your feet and knees though.

  2. A halloween wedding would be interesting. And you wearing those heels was daring! Smart thing to bring the flats. Hope your knee, legs and back get back to normal soon.

Glad your knees and feet are better and that you had fun at the wedding. Have a great weekend. I’ll be thinking of you.

I basically never wear heels any more. The one pair I might wear are pretty low. Interesting sounding wedding. We maintained friendly relationships with our exes. Mine is no longer with us, but Matt’s ex is. We have stayed with both on occasion when we visited the UK.

It’s great you’re tolerant enough to deal with your ex for Sophie’s sake and that the wedding was nice — and especially that you were smart enough to brig flats with you!! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to a function, brought no change of shoes, and was hobbled with pain by the end of it. Good luck organizing you papers and have a lovely weekend! 🙂

  6. M.R.R. says:

Glad the wedding was fun for you, even though there’s pain now. Hope you’re having a good weekend.
